The town is dominated by the River Tweed, which is arguably at it’s best as it meanders through Peebles.
The Tweed begins its’ journey in Tweedsdale, in the Borders hills above Moffat, and passes through Peebles before heading to the North Sea on the east coast at Berwick.
The River Tweed is one of Scotland’s finest salmon rivers and some of the best fishing can be enjoyed along the river, just to the east of Peebles.
