It is nice to arrange a getaway in February when the Scottish Borders are at their most serene. Snow falls through January and February are common, but don't let that put you off. In light snow, hiking the hills is wonderful. If it gets heavier, then consider investing in snowshoes to get another aspect on the landscape.
